4 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders should extend Derek Carr

Who are they going to get that is better?

Over the last few years, the national media has created rumors of the Raiders signing or drafting just about any starting caliber quarterback not named Derek Carr. There were rumors going around non stop in 2019 that Gruden wanted to move on from Carr, whether it be in the draft or free agency.

In 2019, the top quarterbacks available when the Raiders had there pick were Dwayne Haskins, Daniel Jones, and Drew Lock, players that are nowhere near the caliber of Carr. In 2020, everyone believed Tom Brady would come to Las Vegas, a quarterback that Carr has outplayed this season.

People even believed that Mariota would take Carr’s job, which has been far from the case.

Some fans have a hard time accepting the fact that Carr is a good quarterback, but after this season, it can no longer be denied. We should be past the phase of thinking the Raiders will pursue any and every potential starter not named Carr this offseason, as the odds of finding a quarterback better than him in the draft or free agency are close to none at this point.
