4 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders will beat the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12
The Falcons can’t stop the Raiders passing attack
The Raiders struggle against good passing offenses but the Falcons are one of the worst teams in the NFL in that category with only the historically bad Seattle Seahawks worse than them. Las Vegas has shown this year that they can move the ball against some very good defenses through the air and they have done so very efficiently.
Atlanta’s defense has struggled to slow down opposing passing attacks and have allowed eight 300-yard passing games in 10 games. They have also given up the fourth most passing touchdowns so far this season with 22 over that span. Any way you slice up the numbers the Falcons are not good at slowing down opposing QBs and that should allow Derek Carr and his weapons to dice them up.
The Raiders don’t have the most prolific passing offense in terms of raw numbers but they are among the best in the NFL on third down because of how smart Carr has been in those situations. They are 20th in pass yards per game but 6th in passing offense DVOA so when they throws the ball they are usually successful. All signs point to a big game for Carr and his receivers against a Falcons defense that has had little success slowing anyone down this year.
