Las Vegas Raiders at Atlanta Falcons: 3 Players to watch in Week 12

Johnathan Abram

Johnathan Abram struggled this past weekend against the Chiefs, as he missed a couple tackles, got a 15-yard penalty called on him for a late hit, then left his assignment at the end of the game. That enabled Mahomes to then hit tight end Travis Kelce for the game-winning touchdown, sending the Raiders to 6-4.

Even though he made that mistake, he is the heart and soul of that defense, and they feed off his energy.  However, he is a very boom-or-bust player, as he looks so good one play, and then leaves people scratching their heads on the next.  He needs to learn when to make the extra effort and when to just do his job.

Maybe it was due to a week of missed practice, but I’m guessing he would’ve done that anyway, and I don’t blame him too much, as it was a high stakes primetime game against a rival who was talking a lot of trash the whole week leading up to the game.  He has a ton of talent, and the expectation is that he will grow from this experience and make some big plays against Atlanta.
