AFC West 2020 Week 12 predictions: Chiefs lose to Buccaneers

Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In one of the marquee matchups of the weekend, Patrick Mahomes and the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs will head to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. Both teams played in primetime this past week, with the Chiefs beating the Raiders in an AFC West battle, and the Buccaneers getting embarrassed against the Los Angeles Rams.

Coming off losses this season, the Buccaneers have been impressive, and I believe that narrative continues in Week 12 against the Chiefs. Kansas City is a dominant team on both sides of the ball, but they have had their issues on defense in recent weeks, and Bruce Arians should be able to develop a gameplan to exploit that.

My expectation is that this will be a pretty high-scoring affair, and the Bucs will be able to pull out a close victory at home. Tom Brady looked shaky against the Rams defense, but he will have more time to throw on Sunday afternoon and will find room to operate against a Chiefs secondary that is very beatable.

Prediction: Buccaneers 30, Chiefs 27
