Las Vegas Raiders at Atlanta Falcons: How to bet 2020 Week 12

Looking Ahead

All in all, even though last week’s game hurt me in many ways because I failed in two areas, I felt really good about the fact that this Raiders team has been playing really good football, which is the most important thing, and now they find themselves in an identical position to where they were last season sitting at 6-4.

This is where things fell apart for the Raiders last year when they came roaring into MetLife at 6-4 and lost to Sam Darnold which started the avalanche of losses they would soon suffer. Week 12’s game at the Atlanta Falcons is their second chance to make right those wrongs and avenge their unraveling in 2019.

Naturally, I have my reservations because Atlanta is a classic spoiler team.

Raheem Morris is coaching for his job and the Falcons got absolutely ramrodded last week coming out of their bye week by the Saints and Taysom Hill. The Dirty Birds got beat down by a team experimenting with their quarterback position and the Saint defense ate them up.

Now, the Falcons get to come back and face a not-so-good Raider defense and extremely young secondary as they post the number 2 passing offense in football. By most accounts, the Falcons should pull off the upset here, and to be honest, that’s where my gut feeling is about this game.

But as Raider games have done to me almost on cue every week, what my gut has told me about Raiders games has been wrong more often than not, so that being the case, I’m going to go with the Raiders in this game to win.

Here’s something to keep an eye on. The Raiders are top ten in giveaways. Derek Carr is better this year than last year and he’s not giving up the football.

This is a team that knows what it’s like to unravel and now that they have another year under their belts, I believe they’re going to ultimately prove they can keep it together and get to the playoffs. 6-4 was their death sentence last year and I believe in 2020 they will make amends for that collapse.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the fact that the Raider offense is potent and top ten in scoring. Whereas last year they were primarily a run team, I think two great showings in the passing game with the Chiefs have proven this offense is clicking on all fronts and the play-calling is in a zone.
