Las Vegas Raiders at Atlanta Falcons: 3 bold predictions in Week 12

Defense holds Atlanta to under 14 points

The Raiders’ defense has been trending in the right direction, even with the performance against the Chiefs where they allowed Patrick Mahomes to drive the field and beat them late this past Sunday night. Remember, the Raiders were without a few of their starters on that side of the ball, and they were not allowed to practice all week due to COVID-19 protocol.

Heading into that game, they had actually done a nice job defensively, making life miserable for Denver and Drew Lock, and holding Baker Mayfield and the Browns to six points. Defensive coordinator Paul Guenther has taken a lot of slack, and rightfully so, but you have to believe that this Raiders defense should be able to get a bunch of stops against a Julio Jones-less Falcons offense.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is a fantastic player, and the Falcons will have tight end Hayden Hurst available on Sunday, this after he was listed as questionable. The loss of Jones, as well as running back Todd Gurley is going to be huge for this Falcons offense against a Raiders defense that is getting more and more confidence every week.
