AFC West 2020 Week 13 predictions: Raiders get back on track

Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets

Derek Carr returns to the place he started his NFL career, as he travels East to take on the New York Jets inside MetLife Stadium for the second straight year. Last season, this was a house of horrors for Carr and the Raiders, as they went in sporting a 6-4 record with their eyes on the playoffs, only to be beaten soundly by the 3-7 Jets, a loss that started their spiral downward the rest of the way.

One thing is for sure, the Raiders cannot allow history to repeat itself.

The Jets have yet to win a game this season, and in most weeks, it looks like they are trying to lose and possibly get the No. 1 overall pick, a pick that should be Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Adam Gase has been a mistake in terms of their head coach, and if Jon Gruden cannot outcoach him, the Raiders have a serious problem.

My expectation is that the Raiders go East and dominate the New York Jets, but I also said that about the Atlanta Falcons last weekend. They just need to get the victory on Sunday, because a loss would be devastating to not only them winning a Wild Card spot, but them actually being a legitimate playoff contender.

Prediction: Raiders 31, Jets 14
