Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets: 3 things to watch in Week 13

Disciplined or not?

The Raiders’ track record playing on the east coast isn’t strong, and there was always the possibility that a game like Sunday against the Falcons would prove to be the game to catch Las Vegas off guard. But the Raiders showed a lack of discipline in their loss to Atlanta, highlighted by their five turnovers, including a pick-six.

It was a bumbling performance that cannot be repeated against the Jets.

The first task for Sunday’s matchup at New York is to ensure that the team is prepared and mentally ready to get what should be a presumable win. That falls on the team’s leaders: Jon Gruden and Derek Carr. Blame can go all around after last week’s performance, but to right the ship on Sunday, all eyes will be on the duo of Gruden and Carr.

Las Vegas is still in the hunt for the postseason but last week’s unnecessary debacle set the team back nonetheless. Bouncing back strongly will determine whether this team is equipped for a playoff push, and Gruden and Carr both have to lead the way.
