Grading the Las Vegas Raiders rookie performances in 2020 Week 12
Bryan Edwards
The South Carolina product saw a little more than double the snaps he did last week against the Chiefs, as he is still being worked back into the offense by head coach Jon Gruden. Bryan Edwards was on the field for 19 snaps, which accounted for only 30% of the offensive snaps, and he finished the game with a single reception for 15 yards.
Earlier in the season, specifically the first three weeks, Edwards was starting on the outside. He would make a big play here or there but was not seeing many targets, which indicates he wasn’t getting separation. He has the size to be a real target for Derek Carr in this offense, but it has yet to translate to Sundays.
Edwards was a fourth round pick and missed five games, so he is still getting his feet wet in the league and adjusting to the next level, so you shouldn’t expect him to put up big numbers. Still, one of the question marks with him coming out of college was whether or not he would be able to get consistently open, so that is something to watch out for in the coming weeks.
