4 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders will beat the New York Jets in Week 13

Raiders absolutely need this win to keep playoff hopes alive

It’s strange to say that a game against a 0-11 opponent is a must-win matchup, but if the Las Vegas Raiders want to sniff the playoffs then this is a game they absolutely have to have. The schedule after this Jets looks easy on paper but as we know the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos are both better than their records suggest.

The other two games are against two fellow AFC playoff contenders in the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins who both have excellent defenses with some suspect defenses. The Colts are still in the running for the AFC South, and the Dolphins are in the mix right alongside the Raiders for one of the Wild Card spots, so if this is a race to ten wins, then the Raiders can’t let this game against the Jets slip.

The Raiders also have a great chance to undo the damage the Jets did to them last year, as they started their late-season slide with an embarrassing effort at Metlife Stadium. The Jets have bottomed out this year with a combination of bad personnel moves and injuries but they still have players the Raiders should fear and a defensive coordinator in Gregg Williams that can give the Raider offense fits.

Las Vegas needs this game and the Jets are looking ahead to picking Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft but that does not mean we can pencil in the victory for the Raiders before kickoff.
