3 New York Jets the Las Vegas Raiders should worry about in Week 13
Mekhi Becton, Offensive Tackle
Mehki Becton may be a rookie, but he’s a great player for the Jets and the anchor of their offensive line. Drafted 11th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, the former Louisville Cardinal has been a solid pass blocker on an otherwise poor offensive team.
The rookie has only allowed three sacks on the season, along with only ten hurries on 13 pressures overall. Becton was dominant in college, and did a great job playing for the Cardinals, only allowing five sacks in three years on 1,500 snaps, and he has brought his incredible production to the pro game.
Becton may be a rookie, but he plays like a veteran. Historically, offensive linemen struggle for the first few years in the league due to the different techniques NFL defensive linemen can bring. However, he hasn’t wavered at all, and the Raiders should look to attack the youngest player on the offensive line with the least experience.
A good way to do that is switching between Ferrell and Crosby, who have two different rushes. Ferrell has a bull rush, while Crosby has a more finesse move set mixed with powerful bulls.
If the Raiders want to get into the playoffs, every game is crucial at this point. The New York Jets have come close to getting that first win of the season, and the Raiders can’t take their foot off the gas or believe this will be an easy game.
Las Vegas should bring their A-game and show the NFL and the fans that last week was a fluke. After all, this team beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead earlier in the year. We know they can be great, it’s time they prove it.
