Las Vegas Raiders Fantasy Outlook: Week 13 Sit ‘Em or Start ‘Em

Quarterback

Derek Carr – Start ‘Em

Derek Carr had his worst game of the season by quite a margin against the Falcons, as he lost two fumbles and threw a costly pick six when under pressure to Deion Jones. The Raiders quarterback beat up by the Falcons defensive line and was sacked five times by a defense that had struggled to generate consistent pressure all season.

This game was similar to the Tampa Bay game where the offensive line was abused but they didn’t have COVID-19 keeping them from practicing to blame for their lack of execution. They were simply manhandled by a hungrier team and that kept Carr from connecting with his receivers and forced him in to several mistakes.

Against the Jets, Carr has a chance to bounce back against a defense that is on paper even worse than the Falcons. Unlike the Falcons, the Jets have absolutely nothing to play for and don’t have any blue-chippers on defense so there are no players like Deion Jones or Keanu Neal to worry about.

We should expect Carr to have a big day against the worst pass defense in the league and bounce back in a big way. The Jets also don’t have much success rushing the passer and blitz at a high rate so if Carr can anticipate that it should allow for plenty of big plays.
