The Las Vegas Raiders will take on the winless New York Jets on Sunday in a game they must have. Here are three keys to victory for the Raiders.
Raider Nation is the one fan base that consistently endures a roller coaster ride from their beloved Las Vegas Raiders year in and year out. The season started out looking like the Silver and Black was finally a different team this time around, but the Atlanta Falcons laid the smackdown in Week 12 by a final rout of the Raiders of 43 – 6.
Another performance such as last week and the Raiders shouldn’t even think about a spot in the playoffs. Ironically, rewind one season ago and a similar situation unfolded in Week 12 when the New York Jets also served up the Raiders an embarrassing loss with a final score of 34 – 3.
So is this the same old Raiders team from one season ago, or was the loss to the Falcons just a major wake-up call to a young team searching to find their identity? Time will tell, but I wholeheartedly believe this is a different team than the one that crumbled in the latter half of the season in 2019.
The pummeling delivered by the Dirty Birds was a flat outshot to the gut. The team that showed up last Sunday will not be the same team that takes the field at MetLife Stadium tomorrow, even without star power like Josh Jacobs and Johnathan Abram.
I stand by the statement that the Raiders are capable of beating any team in the league any given Sunday. To not suffer another case of déjà vu, let’s take a look at the three key elements to a Raiders victory against the winless Jets.
