The Las Vegas Raiders will be on the road for the second week in a row. This time they are headed to the northeast to face off against the winless New York Jets.

The Las Vegas Raiders have struggled with east coast games in years past, so even though the New York Jets may be the worst team in the league right now, nobody should expect this to be a walk in the park, especially after last weeks disappointing loss against the then 4-7 Atlanta Falcons.

For most of the year, the Raider’s offense has been solid while the Jets defense gives up the 4th most points per game in the entire NFL at 29.3 per game. Derek Carr went into the Atlanta game playing at a very high level and will look to bounce back against the Jets on Sunday.

On the other hand, the Raiders’ defense has also been putrid, falling right below the Jets giving up 29.0 points per game.

The Jets offense is the worst in the league, scoring only 13.8 points per game, so despite it being clear it’s another bad year for the Raiders defense, it will be disappointing if they cannot step up and give the offense more possessions to make things happen at least this week.

In 2019, the Raiders started the season 6-4 and went on to lose all but one game for the remainder of the season. The first team they played after the 6-4 start was no other than the New York Jets who they lost to. The Jets finished the 2019 season 7-9 while this year they are still looking for their first win, so this game should be easier at least on paper.

Hopefully, the Raiders don’t go down the same road as last year and keep themselves in the playoff picture with a road win and match their win total from last season with four games left including two big divisional games against the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos.
