Las Vegas Raiders avoided a disaster in miraculous victory over winless Jets

Waller has a special day

Regardless of how it got done, the Raiders won this game thanks to poor play-calling on the Jets’ part, and a dominant 200-yard performance by Darren Waller, bailing out his team once again.

Let me just say this about Waller, it’s the mark of a really good organization in any sport when you can find guys out of nowhere and make them into the stars they have the potential to be. Waller was a guy nobody had any tabs on.

He’s a guy who has had a lot of personal issues in his past but has seemed to have turned his life around for the better. The fact that the Raiders found him and believed in him, and now he’s the second-best tight end in football arguably, proves just how well-run they are as an organization and how their plan is one to get behind.

Waller is an absolute beast, and I’m glad someone took the chance on him so the world could see how great a player he is. The Raiders proved how functional their organization is in their scouting and in their judgment to take the chance on him.

We hear about the young quarterbacks in Denver and Los Angeles and how the Raiders may be the odd man out when it comes to the future of the AFC West, but I’m not so sure since I’d say their organization is right there with Kansas City in terms of how well it is run.

Denver and Los Angeles may have young quarterbacks who are believed to have higher ceilings than Carr, a very arguable notion, but their organizations are kind of a mess, are they not?

People want to get on Jon Gruden for his $100 million contract and how he almost lost to the Jets, but I’d take this organization over Denver’s and Los Angeles’ in a heartbeat.
