Grading the Las Vegas Raiders rookie performances in 2020 Week 13
Amik Robertson
Amik Robertson logged only two snaps for the second straight game, so once again, there is not much to work with here. Many are blaming Robertson for the Jets touchdown that put them up 14-7 in the second quarter, but after reviewing the play, it was definitely not his fault.
Robertson noticed Jets wide receiver Chris Herndon IV go out to the flat, and picked him up in coverage as he should have, as Herndon would have been wide open all alone in the endzone for a go-ahead touchdown.
Kwiatowski was playing too shallow in zone, and both Trayvon Mullen and Jeff Heath were in the area as well. This was on one of those three based on what zone they were playing, as Robertson followed his assignment.
Throughout the year it has been baffling how Guenther has used the corners. All of the corners on the Raiders roster were known as physical press-man corners and yet he seems to have them dropping back into zone the majority of the time. Lamarcus Joyner has struggled as he did last year and so I’d like to see Robertson start to take over that role which he is best suited for.
