Las Vegas Raiders fantasy outlook: 2020 Week 14 Sit ‘Em or Start ‘Em
Quarterback
Derek Carr – Start ‘Em
After last week’s performance, all we can say is we hope you listened and started Derek Carr against the New York Jets and their 32nd ranked pass defense. The Raiders quarterback tore up the Jets for 381 yards and four total touchdowns, including that dramatic game-winner that was the cherry on top of a great performance.
Carr was actually the top fantasy performer at any position in standard leagues and was in the top five in half or full PPR leagues. This means of course that he was the top performer at QB and outshone some other big fantasy names like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. The Jets defense was generous to Carr, but he also had to deal with being under pressure constantly thanks to a make-shift offensive line.
Things get a little trickier this week against the Colts, as they are currently eighth in pass yards allowed, and give up the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. At this point however you have to trust that Carr will get the job done even against good defenses. Carr also gets Trent Brown and Josh Jacobs back so he should be able to lean on the run game to keep drives alive and should have more time to operate in the pocket.
Unless you have a much better matchup with someone like say, Aaron Rodgers against the Detroit Lions, then keep it rolling with Carr. If you’ve made it this far with him running the show then you have to believe that he will play well and put up points against the Colts defense.
