4 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders will beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14

The offensive line will play better

The Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive line has been decimated by injury and illness this entire season, and through it, all, have still played like a top five unit in the entire NFL.  Give kudos to offensive line coach Tom Cable and the players who have stepped up this season, but down the stretch, they are going to need a full complement of starters each week.

Right tackle Trent Brown has missed most of this season with a hamstring injury then complications due to the COVID 19 virus, but in the game, he did play in against the Chiefs, he was dominant and showed the fans why he was the highest-paid tackle in the league.

He was just activated this week, and there are reports that he has a chance to play in this game, which would be a huge boost against this Colts defense. Even though left guard Denzelle Good, and more surprisingly back up swing tackle Brandon Parker have played well for the most part in his and backup tackle Sam Young’s absence, Brown would be a welcome addition to the offensive line, especially with players like Deforest Buckner and former Raider Denico Autry on the other side of the line.

I expect the offensive line to play better than they have these last two games against the Falcons and Jets where Carr was under constant pressure, and the running game could not get going. There are reports out there that Jacobs may be ready to play this week after Gruden said on Monday it wasn’t looking good for him.

Even if Jacobs is out, the offensive line needs to make more running room against a good Colts rush defense, who held the Houston Texans to 90 total rushing yards with more than 30 of them coming from quarterback Deshaun Watson.  The players know every game from here on out is a playoff game and they will improve their recent play this Sunday.
