Las Vegas Raiders vs. Indianapolis Colts: How to bet 2020 Week 14

The Matchup

Both the Colts are Raiders are looking at AFC Wild Card spots at the moment, along with the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, and Cleveland Browns, so a win here over a contender they may have to beat out in a tiebreaker is going to go a long way.

Just as a breakdown of how Philip Rivers and Derek Carr match up against each other, the Raiders are Rivers’ best AFC West opponent. He’s 18-10 against them in the regular season and has a passer rating of 95.6 with over 7100 yards thrown for and 47 touchdowns to 22 interceptions.

As for Carr, his numbers thrive as well, as he has his second-best passer rating against opponents of his of 120.8 with eight touchdowns to zero interceptions and a completion percentage of 70% in three games. It’s also worth-noting that head-to-head with Rivers, Carr was 6-6 against the Chargers until his win against them this year without Rivers.

When the Colts and Raiders meet up, the Raiders lead the all-time series 10-8, but Indy has won five of seven overall and three of four on the road at the Raiders.

My gut feeling on this game was that I was going to split it between Indy and Vegas, with the Colts winning outright, and the Raiders covering the three-point spread while also taking the over since I thought both quarterbacks would absolutely crush it this week like they have against each other’s teams in the past. Carr also blew Indy up last year at Indy.

But once the numbers come in, I tend to get a clearer picture of what my best option is.
