Indianapolis Colts at Las Vegas Raiders: 3 bold predictions in Week 14

Defense holds the Colts under 400 yards of total offense

Paul Guenther has been under immense pressure from Raider Nation, and rightfully so. Some coaching mistakes have led to a few losses the Raiders should’ve won, most notably leaving Travis Kelce wide open in the endzone.

This week though, the Raiders could lock up the receivers and tight ends for the Colts and get the win.

The NFL is a “what have you done for me lately” league, which is why Raider Nation is so tired of the close losses. This week, the Raiders need to show why they deserve this playoff spot, I keep saying this because it’s true. The defense needs to step up and prove to the NFL they can be a playoff-caliber defense, and put up points against teams with playoff-caliber defenses.

Allowing the Jets to stay in the game the entirety of the game and barely coming away with a win won’t beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, or the Steelers in Pittsburgh to get to the Super Bowl. When the Raiders beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead this season, it took an incredible game from Derek Carr, and it was by far Guenther’s best coaching display.

This week, the Raiders’ defense needs to show why they deserve to be in the playoff discussion, and that starts with holding an above-average offense to under 400 yards of total offense.
