Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Week 14 review: Studs and Duds
Studs: Nelson Agholor
Nelson Agholor has not been perfect this season but he had himself another great game against a very good defense. The veteran receiver had his second 100-yard game of the season to give him 635 yards on the year and caught his seventh touchdown when the game was still in doubt.
Agholor was thrust into the number one receiver role due to injury and he has grasped it with two hands and has not let go. His notorious drops have surfaced here and there and he is clearly not the long-term solution at the number one receiver role, but he has shown that he can be a great complement receiver to Derek Carr and this Raiders offense.
Against the Colts, Agholor made several big plays including a massive 36-yard catch on third down in the second quarter to keep a drive alive and keep the Raiders in the game for the time being. He capped that drive off with a 21-yard touchdown reception as he continues to be a big-play threat for the Raiders.
The former Eagle is now on pace for career highs in yards and touchdowns and has a special connection with Carr. He signed a one-year deal with the Raiders in the summer, but they would do well to sign him to a longer extension and put a true number one receiver opposite him to let him truly shine.
