The Las Vegas Raiders were embarrassed by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, here are three things we learned from the humbling defeat

It was a familiar story at Allegiant Stadium, as the Las Vegas Raiders kept things close against the Indianapolis Colts, only to fade in the fourth quarter. The Raiders were within two scores early in the fourth, but a series of individual mistakes moved the game from competitive to a blowout in just two offensive drives.

The Week 14 loss to the Colts followed the same exact script as the losses to the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers early in the season, as both teams pulled away to win big and make the games look less competitive than they actually were. At least against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, the Raiders waited until the final seconds of the game before letting the game slip in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders were able to keep things close this week solely because of their offense, as the defense was gashed through the air and on the ground. Once the offense stalled thanks to a red zone interception, and two-goal-to-go drives that ended in field goals, the Colts were able to force Las Vegas into a few individual errors and blew the game open.

Las Vegas continues to be one of the most confounding teams in the NFL thanks to their inconsistency, but there have been a few patterns in nearly every game.

Let’s take a deep dive into the humbling loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and discuss the three things we learned from the game.
