Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders: 3 things to watch in Week 15
By Brad Weiss
Can Justin Herbert exploit the Raiders’ depleted secondary?
One of the keys on Thursday night is going to be stopping Justin Herbert, the dynamic rookie quarterback for the Chargers who has been racking up passing yards in bunches. Herbert will have the luxury of playing against a severely depleted Raiders secondary Thursday, one that will be without starters, Damon Arnette and Johnathan Abram.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Nevin Lawson would be questionable for the game as well, but no Raiders fans are going to be sad about that. Daryl Worley was brought back into the fold last week, and he is expected to suit up for the Silver and Black in this one, and it remains to be seen how healthy Isaiah Johnson is.
Overall, this is a unit that has struggled even when healthy, so Herbert should have room to operate in this one.
Las Vegas cannot afford to lose to the Chargers, or else they will be spending the first postseason in the desert watching the games from home. They have the talent to beat Los Angeles and beat them soundly, but as has been the case the last month or so, you never know which Las Vegas team is going to hit the field tomorrow night.
