Las Vegas Raiders fantasy outlook: 2020 Week 15 Sit ‘Em or Start ‘Em

Quarterback

Derek Carr – Start ‘Em

Derek Carr continues to be a top-tier fantasy quarterback after another great performance against the Indianapolis Colts. Carr threw for 316 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and a rushing touchdown, to give him the fifth-best quarterback performance of Week 14. The two interceptions were a blemish on an otherwise great fantasy day, but ultimately did little to diminish his output.

The rushing touchdown and some of the yardage total came in garbage time, but Carr’s two passing touchdowns came in the first half when the game was still competitive. What made this even more impressive was that the Colts, before Sunday, had given up the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks, but Carr was able to dice them up and put up 25 points in standard leagues.

The Chargers defense is not nearly as good, and they are currently giving up the tenth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Matt Ryan had a difficult game against them in Week 14, but he was without Julio Jones, and he typically struggles without his number one receiver. Carr doesn’t seem to have that problem as he excels at spreading the ball around to all of his targets rather than focusing on one, perhaps except for Darren Waller.

Carr had just 165 yards in his last game against the Chargers, but that was because the Raiders struggled with pass protection and focused on the run game. He still threw two touchdowns in that matchup and now has right tackle Trent Brown back in the lineup.

Start Derek Carr this week with confidence against the Chargers.
