Las Vegas Raiders fantasy outlook: 2020 Week 15 Sit ‘Em or Start ‘Em

Defense and Special Teams

Daniel Carlson – Start ‘Em

Daniel Carlson is so good it’s almost becoming boring. The young kicker had another near double-digit performance against Indianapolis, as he booted in three extra points and two field goals to put up nine points on the day. His two field goals were inside 25 yards, so they represented a failure by the Raiders to score touchdowns once inside the ten, but at least they have a dependable kicker to count on.

In the last matchup with LA, Carlson went 4-4 on extra points and a field goal, so we can hope for a similar offensive output from the Raiders and their kicker. The Chargers give up the seventh-most fantasy points to kickers and we can expect to see that trend continue on Thursday.

Las Vegas Raiders Defense – Sit ‘Em

The Las Vegas Raiders defense has quickly become one of the worst units in the NFL in both fantasy and real life, and their struggles led to the firing of defensive coordinator Paul Guenther on a short week. They had their fourth game with negative points of the season, and have just 35 fantasy points in standard leagues thanks to their low sack and turnover numbers.

Against the Chargers in their previous matchup, the Raiders defense gave up 26 points but had two sacks and a fumble recovery to put up four points in standard leagues. There is no reason to start them this week even with the injuries the Chargers have had because the Raiders are arguably just as beat up on defense.

This has all the makings of a high-scoring game, so continue to stay away from this unit at all costs.
