Las Vegas Raiders: How many teams have made playoffs after 7-6 start?

Conclusion

Of the 60 teams that made the playoffs in the past half-decade, only ten teams have made the playoffs after a 7-6 or worse start. This gives the Raiders only a 6% chance to do the same based on the history of the league.

If we look only at the teams that went 7-6 and ignore the teams that went 6-7, it was only six teams that got in, and the Raiders only have a 3.6% chance. Of course, this all could have been avoided has the team actually showed up against the Atlanta Falcons and were able to take care of business at home against the Indianapolis Colts.

Of the teams in that 3.6%, only four made it past the Wild Card round, and as said earlier, the Packers are the only ones to make it past the Divisional round.

These are slim chances, but it wouldn’t really be anything extraordinary if they pull it off. Let us hope Rod Marinelli can inspire some sort of improvement in the defense, and that Derek Carr will continue to play his best football since the team’s last playoff season. At this point, all they can do is win the games ahead of them and hope to get the help they need.
