The Las Vegas Raiders took on the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night, but maybe head coach Jon Gruden thought they were still in Oakland.

Playing against a division rival with their season on the line is sure to make any member of the Las Vegas Raiders nervous. Going into their matchup on Thursday, the 7-6 Raiders needed to win out if they wanted any chance to make it to the playoffs, so tension was certainly high inside the locker room.

For head coach Jon Gruden, that could have led to one of the funnier wardrobe malfunctions we have seen from the coach, outside of him wearing something that was not quite a mask early on this season. On Thursday, it was his hat that caught the attention of national television, and for good reason.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden forgot he is in Vegas?

The long-time head coach harkened back to the Oakland days on the sidelines early on, as he rocked an Oakland Raiders hat as the team’s got going in their Week 15 battle. If you are not paying attention at home, the Raiders actually are now the Las Vegas Raiders, and Gruden made sure to make the switch later on in the first half.

On the field, the action took a turn for the worse early on, as starting quarterback Derek Carr went down with a groin injury. Luckily for the Silver and Black, they paid his backup, Marcus Mariota, a ton of money to come to the desert this offseason, and he paid immediate dividends, getting the job done with his arm and his legs.

Whether it was Carr or Mariota under center, it really did not matter, as the defense once again looked overmatched time and time again. Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert was dicing the team up all game long as he led his team to a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
