Las Vegas Raiders: 3 potential Defensive Coordinator targets
By Daniel Davis
The Raiders should target Andre Curtis from Seattle
Andre Curtis would be an excellent fit at defensive coordinator, as the defensive passing coordinator has 11 years of experience, with seven coming as a safety position coach. Curtis has overseen one of the most dominant passing defenses in recent years with the 2013-2015 Legion of Boom. Curtis has also coached players such as Earl Thomas, Ed Reed, Kenny Vaccaro, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Brandon Browner, and Marshawn Lattimore.
He would be a great pick up for a secondary with many young talents who just needs some proper direction.
In 2019, he helped Saquill Griffen get his first Pro Bowl nod, and helped orchestrate a trade for Quandre Diggs. In his 11 years, he’s helped two rookie corners, Lattimore and Griffen gain Pro Bowl status, with Lattimore earning second-team all-pro in his rookie season.
Cutis would be a big help to a struggling defense that has issues in the passing game while having good rushing defense numbers on most days.
He played his college at Virginia Military Institute, playing strong safety and linebacker. He went on to coach at the same school and eventually joined the NFL in 2006 as a position assistant. Having experience with linebackers and secondaries gives him more of an advantage as well and he also played defensive end in college as well.
