Las Vegas Raiders: 3 potential Defensive Coordinator targets
By Daniel Davis
Aubrey Pleasant is another specialist for the defensive backfield to target at DC
Aubry Pleasant has been with the Rams for 11 years and has experience with some of the best coordinators in the game. He’s worked under Wade Philips, Raheem Morris, Tony Dungy, Pete Carroll, and John Harbaugh.
Currently, Pleasant is the cornerback’s position coach for the Los Angeles Rams and coaches players like Jalen Ramsey. In the past, he’s coached players such as Marcus Peters, Troy Hill, and Darious Williams. In 2019, the Rams had 18 interceptions, with 15 of those coming from the corners.
He’s been able to develop young players into manageable players who can play tough, man-to-man defense in a Wade Phillips scheme.
In the past, he’s coached players such as Sean Taylor, Quenton Dunbar, Bob Sanders, Justin Simmons, and Mike Adams as well. The young positions coach has led the L.A. Rams to consecutive seasons with a defense in the top-10 in passing, and all the corners having success at whatever level they play at.
Before the NFL, Pleasant coached at Michigan during 2005-2009 when they had a dominant defense. Pleasant has coached players who have had dominant seasons, and continue to produce outside of L.A. He’d help the Raiders by bringing a sense of toughness to a passing game that’s struggling and needs guidance.
