The Las Vegas Raiders play host to the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, and with a loss, they are officially eliminated from the playoffs.
The red-hot Miami Dolphins led by a ferocious defense and rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa come to town to face the Las Vegas Raiders, who currently have a losing record at home in their inaugural season in Las Vegas. The Raiders have lost four of their last five games to put their hopes of a playoff berth on life support.
They not only need to beat both the Dolphins this week, and the Broncos next week, but they need both the Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens to lose out, which is hard to see happening.
The last two weeks for the Miami Dolphins were pretty successful, going toe to toe with the Kansas City Chiefs, and nearly completing the comeback after falling behind early 30-10. Last week, they knocked long-time king of the AFC East New England Patriots out of playoff contention.
Tua did struggle quite a bit in that game, throwing for only 145 yards on 20 completions for a little over five yards average and an interception, but then again, almost every rookie quarterback who goes against the Patriots struggles. The defense once again played well limiting the Patriots to only ten points, even though running back Sony Michel rushed for 74 yards on them, and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers had 111 yards receiving on seven receptions.
In Week 16, they take on a reeling Raiders squad.
