Raiders avoid the turnovers

For Las Vegas to beat the Dolphins on Saturday night, they first have to try and not beat themselves by turning the ball over. Las Vegas has the weapons on offense to score with anybody, but recently, it seems like some timely turnovers have turned close games into blowouts.

Against Miami, they will be facing the best team in the league in terms of the turnover game, as the Dolphins have forced a league-leading 26 turnovers. Derek Carr has struggled with the fumbles this season, and against a tough Dolphins pass rush, albeit, without Shaw Lawson, he cannot afford another one, especially deep in their own territory.

A lot has to go right if Las Vegas hopes to keep their playoff hopes alive, and that will include not only controlling the clock but also protecting the ball. The defense is key in this one, that is for sure, but if the Raiders cough up the ball time and time again, it is going to put a weak unit in an even tougher spot.
