Chargers hold on against the Denver Broncos

It took way too long for me to want to admit, but unfortunately, it seems like the Chargers have a keeper in the quarterback department.  Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers dominated the Denver Broncos in the first half, building a 13-0 lead, as Herbert threw a touchdown, and Drew Lock had an interception, continuing the ongoing story of both players’ careers.

Lock has had trouble in his career getting Denver receivers the ball and throwing it too much to the other team, and that continued in this game.

Lock threw two interceptions with zero passing touchdowns but did run one in to pull within three points in the fourth quarter, before a field goal from suddenly struggling kicker Brandon McManus tied it at 16 apiece. Michael Badgley then kicked a 37-yard field goal to take the 19-16 lead before getting Lock to throw an interception on a Hail Mary to win the game.

During the game, Herbert set the NFL record for touchdown passes by a rookie, connecting on his 28th strike of the season. He has been incredible for Los Angeles this season, and could just be scratching the surface of what he can become at the NFL level.

The Chargers look to be finishing this year strong with back-to-back, hard-fought division victories and might end up saving head coach Anthony Lynn’s job in the process.
