Raiders LB Raekwon McMillan: Dud

Raekwon McMillan has not seen much of the field this season for the Raiders since coming to Las Vegas via trade after they decided to cut bait on Lynn Bowden Jr, and he showed us all why that was the case. McMillan finished the day with nine combined tackles, and a tackle for a loss, but he was at the center of several huge plays for the Dolphins.

The former Dolphin was in a perfect position to make a stop on the fake punt, but he was not strong enough in the hole, and the up back broke free for a big run on one of the more important plays of the game. The other mistake by McMillan was on Myles Gaskin’s catch and run in the fourth quarter, as he missed a tackle despite having the Miami back in his grasp.

McMillan was forced into the lineup because the Raiders were without Nicholas Morrow and Nick Kwiatkoski, and he proved why he is a special teams player at best with his performance. He has always struggled in pass coverage but was supposed to be a sure tackler, but his two mistakes both led to huge plays for the Dolphins which helped swing the game in their favor.

If the Raiders are still missing the Nicks next week, we may be in for a long day against the Broncos.
