Raiders could target Haskell Garrett, Ohio State

The first interior lineman that Mayock and Gruden should consider is Haskell Garrett out of Ohio State. The six-foot-two, nearly 300-pound prospect was a force for the Buckeyes, totaling six and a half tackles for a loss, one sack, and 37 total tackles. Per Pro Football Focus, Garrett’s snap breakdown shows 204 snaps played along the defensive line this season.

He grades at 92.1 overall this past year, with his strongest attribute being his pass-rush grade which came in at 91.0 for 2020. If you follow his overall collegiate grades over the course of his four-year career, you’ll see he grew by leaps and bounds.

Since 2017, Garrett’s grades have been 68.4, 60.5, 80.5, and 92.1, respective.

Drae Harris of the Draft Network believes Garrett will be limited in his versatility, which is fine all things considered. He could be drafted to replace Hankins if the team opts to not re-signing him. However, Harris did note that Garrett demonstrates good power and inside hand placement as a bull rusher, so if he were to put on some muscle, there’s a possibility he could contribute in pass-rushing at the NFL level.
