The cornerback position took a hit for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020. They have some promising players but a veteran addition could help.

Trayvon Mullen had a solid sophomore campaign for the Las Vegas Raiders, notching two interceptions, but giving up a 61.6 completion percentage. Also, his total receiving yards given up increased from his rookie season, from 424 to 604.

Mullen’s still the top corner on this Raiders roster, but after him, there are question marks.

Damon Arnette’s rookie year was largely unimpressive, though he was hampered by injury and COVID-19 as well. Nevertheless, when he did see the field, the results were disappointing. In 343 snaps played, Arnette gave up 309 receiving yards and a 78.1 completion percentage.

Isaiah Johnson shined in spot situations during the seasons, but he’s far from being an everyday corner. Assuming LaMarcus Joyner remains with the squad, and he’s moved to his more natural position at safety, does this mean the team will rely on Amik Robertson in the slot?

Releasing Prince Amukamara before the season started came back to haunt the Raiders once injuries and mediocre play were haunting the defense. Investing in a veteran cornerback could be a smart bet if the money’s right. Let’s take a look at some possibilities for the Silver and Black this offseason.
