The 2020 Las Vegas Raiders failed to make the playoffs after a 6-3 start, but their quarterback play was not the reason why.
The Las Vegas Raiders once again trotted out Derek Carr as their starting quarterback in 2020, and the hope was he could finally get his team back to being a perennial playoff contender. Since the 2002 NFL season, the Raiders have been to the playoffs only once, and in that year, 2016, Carr was playing at an MVP level before breaking his leg on Christmas Day.
Since then, we have seen Jack Del Rio fired, and Jon Gruden brought in on a ten-year deal, with the hope that he could bring the team back to the glory days of his first tenure in Oakland. However, after three seasons, the Raiders have yet to get back to the playoffs, and while the team did win eight games last season, it was seen as a disappointment.
For Carr, the 2020 season brought a bunch of highs, including beating Kansas City on the road, and a bunch of lows, like losing all but two of their last seven games of the season. It was another year on the outside looking in at the playoffs, and as we inch closer to the 2021 NFL Draft, we start to look at the 2020 season per position group.
