OLB Von Miller

Speaking of players that are coming off massive injuries and could be available on the cheap, Von Miller is a possible option for the Raiders, though he is still technically a member of the Denver Broncos. Miller is still under contract with Denver for 2021, but there is a team option that could allow them to release him and make him an unrestricted free agent.

Miller is due $18 million under his current deal, and with the Broncos trying to build around Drew Lock, it would be in their best interest to find a way to reduce that number for their veteran superstar one way or the other. If the Broncos were to part ways with Miller, perhaps the Raiders could offer him a chance to have his revenge on his former team twice a year and make the short move south from Colorado to Nevada.

The downside for the Raiders of course is that they could sign a player that just tore a tendon in his ankle and may never be the same player he was during his heyday in Denver. That is a risk that a team like Las Vegas will have to be willing to take as they desperately need impact players on the defense.

Miller, when he is at his best, is one of the best defensive players in the NFL, and is an absolutely devastating force as a pass rusher. The former Texas A&M Aggie has 106 sacks in 135 games and had eight sacks and ten tackles for loss as recently as 2019. Signing him would be an absolute coup in the AFC West and he could be the first in a line of big-name free agents who want to play under the bright lights in Las Vegas.
