Raiders get an elite linebacker in the first round
Once again, with no pass rushers available, one pick from Kwity Paye was a killer, I decided to go with the best defensive player on the board, which was Notre Dame’s Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
New defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is a former linebackers coach and has always liked fast, athletic linebackers over the years. Guys like Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright, Telvin Smith, and Myles Jack all played in Bradley’s scheme, and Owusu-Koromoah has similar traits that will allow him to thrive.
He has the flexibility to play as a WILL linebacker and as a third safety in coverage, and although the Raiders invested in linebacker this last offseason, this defense is in no position to pass up legit talent on that side of the ball. Also, with no pass rushers being available during the simulation, I did not want to reach for a player.
Owusu-Koramoah is everything you want in a modern-day linebacker, and the Raiders could very easily find a spot for someone of his talent.
