Raiders FA WR targets: T.Y. Hilton – Indianapolis Colts

If Nelson Agholor signs elsewhere, and the Raiders are looking for a replacement deep threat, they could certainly do worse than Indianapolis Colt legend T.Y. Hilton. The former third round pick had a poor 2020 by his lofty standards, but some of that had to do with the subpar quarterback play he had to work with thanks to the struggles of Philip Rivers.

Hilton is just two years removed from a 1,200-yard season, but even his 56 catches and 762 yards in 2020 would have been second best behind Agholor on a Raiders team that did not have a 1,000 yard receiver. The Raiders also saw first hand what he is still capable of, as he burned them for five catches, 86 yards, and two touchdowns in their Week 14 matchup.

While he is no longer the dominant player that had four straight 1,000-yard seasons earlier in his career, Hilton is still a viable deep threat and could be a solid stopgap option if the Raiders are not able to bring back Agholor. He could still be looking for one more long-term deal at 31 years old, but he could be convinced to come to Las Vegas after seeing the damage Agholor did in this system.

There is also talk of him returning to Indianapolis and further cementing his place as the third-most prolific receiver in franchise history, but they may choose to rebuild around younger receivers Michael Pittman and Zach Pascal. Similar to Green, this could be an addition that adds some veteran savvy to a young group and some leadership as well.
