Las Vegas Raiders: 10 free agent wide receivers to target
Raiders FA WR targets: Will Fuller – Houston Texans
What is Will Fuller worth to an NFL team? When healthy he is one of the most explosive receivers in the league and his career yards per reception of 14.9 yards and propensity for scoring long touchdowns back up that assertion.
The problem for Fuller is that he is rarely healthy, as he has missed 22 games in his first four seasons due to various injuries. It looked like he had turned a corner in 2020, and was on his way to a 1,000-yard season, but instead of injury, a suspension for performance enhancing drugs ended his season prematurely.
The Raiders, and anyone else looking at Fuller, will have to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze when it comes to this talented but mercurial receiver. When he is on the field his impact is incredible but how much do you invest on a player who has not played more than 11 games since his rookie season?
For Las Vegas he may not be worth the trouble as they have plenty of experience with receivers that can’t stay on the field, and Fuller’s lack of availability may be his worst trait. There is no doubt that he would be successful as a deep threat if he were to replace Nelson Agholor but his injury history makes him too risky of an acquisition.
