Asante Samuel Jr. would complete a Raiders secondary rebuild

The second pick of Day 2 for the Raiders would complete an overhaul of their secondary. Walking away with Holland to man the backfield alongside Abram with Asante Samuel Jr. on the outside would be noteworthy.

As a Florida State Seminole, Samuel generated turnovers and dominated his side of the field. He totaled four interceptions, 29 passes defended, and recovered two fumbles from 2018-2020. Joe Marino did of the Draft Network did raise a concern and that’s that Samuel mostly excelled in man coverage, with his zone skills needing work.

This is certainly something to consider though Samuel also played in the slot so you could have him develop behind Robertson, or as a duo.

Samuel’s strength coming out of college will be to man the outside. Depending on how Bradley wants to arrange his players, the team could walk away with three instant starters in the first three rounds.
