Raiders offense has a few holes to fill via the Draft
The Las Vegas Raiders do not have too many holes to fill this offseason on the offensive side of the ball, though they have to figure out what they want to do with some veterans up front along the offensive line, and also add a wideout. Also, depth behind Josh Jacobs would be great for an offense that had no problems putting up points this past season.
These two players could help the Raiders offense as rookies next season:
- Aaron Banks, OG, Notre Dame
An All-American for the Fighting Irish, Aaron Banks is a player who could come in and start right away for the Raiders if they decide to make some moves in terms of their vets upfront at guard. Las Vegas added John Simpson from Clemson last year, and he is a solid player, so Banks could not only provide depth but also jump in and start if need be.
- Michael Carter, RB, University of North Carolina
The Las Vegas Raiders have a bonafide star at running back in Josh Jacobs, a player who earned his first Pro Bowl nod this past season. One player who had a fantastic college career is Michael Carter, who could bring another dimension to the running back room. Sure, Devontae Booker was good at times for the Raiders last season, but Carter would be a long-term answer to who backs up Jacobs in Vegas.
The Senior Bowl is really the kick-off to draft season, and it will be interesting to see which players shine on the national stage this season. The Raiders have had tremendous draft capital in recent years, and are still on the outside looking in at the playoffs, so hopefully, Mayock and Gruden can get this one right in April.
