Whenever a quarterback makes any waves, whether it is free agency, or as a potential top draft pick, it seems the Las Vegas Raiders are always involved. Currently, the fan base and the media are split on current quarterback Derek Carr, who has been the starter for the franchise since the 2014 NFL season.

This past season, Carr had another terrific statistically season playing within Jon Gruden’s offense, throwing for a ton of yards, and leading a very efficient Raiders offense. Unfortunately, the defense was once again one of the worst in the NFL, so a 6-3 start to the season was quickly erased by another second-half struggle, with the team finishing up at 8-8.

Despite Carr playing well, he is still the main topic of conversation this offseason, as many would like the team to move on from him. He has not done a ton of winning since becoming the starter, leading the franchise to only one playoff appearance, and was not able to play in the postseason due to a broken leg.

Recently, the news came out that Detroit Lions franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford would hit the trading block, and of course, the Raiders were brought up as a potential suitor.  However, in 2021, the Raiders should stick with Carr at the quarterback position, improve the real areas of need on this roster.
