Raiders land an absolute star linebacker in Round 1

No big surprise here, as the Las Vegas Raiders, see that Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is still on the board at No. 17 overall, and pounce. This is a kid who is going to be a special player at the next level, and he fills an immediate void in this Raiders defense.

Despite spending money on the linebacker spot this offseason, bringing in the likes of Nick Kwiatkoski and Cory Littleton, it was actually holdover Nicholas Morrow who had the best season of the bunch. Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley likes what he has on the roster, especially in Littleton, so the hope is that he can actually get some production out of the group.

In JOK, the Raiders get a linebacker who can play sideline to sideline, is an excellent tackler and can be outstanding in coverage against tight ends, and even wideouts. That is something this defense has been lacking for a long time, so adding a player of his caliber is the first step in turning things around on that side of the ball for the Silver and Black.
