Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2021 NFL Mock: Gus Bradley gets major assets
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders have holes to fill on all three levels of the defense, and that includes upfront along the defensive line. The franchise has used big-time assets to improve the group, including the No. 4 overall pick back in 2019, but it is still having trouble stopping the run, and getting after the quarterback.
This past offseason, defensive tackle Maliek Collins was brought in to try and fix that issue, and early on, he was raved about as being an anchor on this defense. Well, he had a bad first season in Las Vegas and playing on a one-year contract, it would not be surprising if he was a one-and-done player for the Raiders.
With pick No. 49 in the second round, the Raiders should keep their eyes on Daviyon Nixon out of Iowa, a guy who is extremely quick off the ball, and very athletic for his size. He has had a breakout season for the Hawkeyes and possesses that rare blend of size and athleticism that could rocket him up draft boards this year.
For the Raiders, he would be a great addition to a group that should include Maurice Hurst and Johnathan Hankins next season.
