The Las Vegas Raiders defense was downright terrible at times last season, finishing No. 30 in the NFL in terms of points allowed per game. The prior offseason, the franchise attempted to fix that side of the ball by utilizing not only high draft picks but also free agency money, all of which proved ineffective.

As we turn the calendar to the 2021 offseason, there is a lot of work to be done still, and it will be interesting to see what pieces the team brings in to try and fix the issues. They have to do a lot of cap maneuvering, as they are way over the salary cap threshold right now, so expect some names from last year’s defense to be shown the door.

There is a new sheriff in town on that side of the ball in Gus Bradley, who will try and simplify things this season, and put players in a position to succeed. However, convincing a Raiders fan that the defense can be relied upon will be a tough task for Bradley, as it seems no matter who the team brings in, they struggle wearing the Silver and Black on that side of the ball.
