Daniel Jeremiah – NFL Network: Raiders get a linebacker

Pick: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB Notre Dame

One of the bigger names in the NFL draft media, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network, dropped his first mock draft this past Friday. Jeremiah is a widely respected draft expert, and for the Raiders, he had them taking Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

The Raiders are in desperate need of playmakers on the ball’s defensive side, so it is no surprise that DJ mocks perhaps the most versatile and explosive linebacker prospect to Las Vegas. It is a position group that has been an issue for the Raiders, so he makes a lot of sense.

Jeremiah wrote:

"“Owusu-Koramoah is a dynamic athlete at the second level of the defense. He can cover in the slot if needed and he’s an excellent blitzer. The Raiders need to address the pass rush, too, and that could be an option here with this pick.”"

Owusu-Koramoah had a tremendous 2020 season for the Fighting Irish, taking home the Dick Butkus Award (Best LB), ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and was a consensus All-American. He made a steady rise since arriving on campus and is someone who could help take this defense to new heights.

Even though the Raiders have made moves to address the linebacker position the past few seasons, none of them are good enough to prevent Las Vegas from taking someone like Owusu-Koramoah, especially if the front office deems him the best player on the board.
