Las Vegas Raiders: Strong 2021 tackle class puts Trent Brown on hot seat

So where can the Raiders find some money?

Among the Raiders whom the team can release without a dead cap charge, contracts for Brown ($14 million), wideout Tyrell Williams ($11.6 million), and quarterback Marcus Mariota ($11.3 million) carry the biggest savings.

With Henry Ruggs III, Bryan Edwards, and Hunter Renfrow on the roster, the Raiders will likely part ways with Williams, who didn’t play for the 2020 campaign because of a torn labrum. Nelson Agholor became a lead threat in the offense and could choose to come back on a lucrative deal.

If Vegas cuts Brown and Williams, it would save $25.6 million. Those moves alone wouldn’t allow the Raiders to spend much in free agency, but that’s a good start.

Offensive line coach Tom Cable has done a good job with left tackle Kolton Miller‘s early progress, and he’s earned the trust to develop another player at the position. The 2021 class will feature several high-end prospects who could become immediate starters.
