The Las Vegas Raiders will need help to get their passing attack to another level, so enter D’Wayne Eskridge from Western Michigan. There are many intangibles at play here so try to follow along.

Yes, we all know the likelihood of a Raiders early round pick being used on a wide receiver is slim. Recently, however, circumstances could be changing for the Silver and Black as far as the wide receiver position.

Regardless, before you look at what Eskridge can bring, let’s recap a few things first.

First off, the situation with Nelson Agholor has been taking an interesting turn this week. Vic Tafur of The Athletic recently shared some developments, in particular, Agholor’s feelings towards his stay in Vegas so far. It doesn’t paint a positive picture, if true, and surely doesn’t bode well for his future as a Raiders.

It’s speculation, of course, no one for certain can know what Raiders brass nor Agholor will do. Interestingly enough, Tafur also mentioned this week that Agholor’s possible deal request might be equal to Tyrell Williams’ contact, which is worth $11 million a year.

What we do know is that ‘Nelly’ turned around his career in 2020. He accumulated 896 receiving yards, eight touchdowns, and averaged 18.7 yards per reception, this coming off 85 targets. Agholor clearly became quarterback Derek Carr’s favorite target not named Darren Waller.

But as we’ve seen, Carr’s used to a revolving door at wide receiver and 2021 might not be different. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that there’d be room for Eskridge with the Raiders, strictly looking at the roster.
