Raiders legend Marcus Allen finished his career in Kansas City

After a Heisman Trophy-winning career at USC, Marcus Allen was the Los Angeles Raiders No. 10 overall pick in the 1982 NFL Draft. A dominant player from Day 1, Allen quickly became one of the best running backs in the NFL, setting numerous Raiders records along the way.

Allen would play 11 seasons with the Silver and Black, helping the team to a Super Bowl win, while picking up the Most Valuable Player Award in the team’s Super Bowl XVIII victory over the Washington Football Team. The Rookie of the Year in 1982, and a perennial Pro Bowler from 1984 through 1987, Allen won the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award in 1985, a season that saw him rush for 1,759 yards and 11 touchdowns.

However, his run with the team also ended in turmoil, as he was used as a backup in his final three seasons, and had issues with team owner Al Davis. He ended up signing with the division rival Kansas City Chiefs, and was a Pro Bowler in his first season with the Chiefs, leading the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns.

Allen and Brown are two all-time Raiders and gave the franchise so many memorable moments. Though they finished up with other franchises, we will choose to forget that part of their careers, and instead focus on the years they spent in the Silver and Black.
